BAKU—Azerbaijan ranks 15th in the world in the import of arms and military vehicles, says a report released by the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade.
According to the analysis prepared based on initial reports, Baku spent $1.257 billion on the import of arms and military vehicles in 2013, Azeri news agency APA reports.
In total, the world spent at least $65.98 billion on the purchase of weapons in 2013, the highest number sinnce the cold war.
India tops the list of arms purchases with $9.94 bn. It is followed by Saudi Arabia ($5.33 bn), the UK ($3.63 bn), the UAE ($3.51 bn), the US ($2.5 bn), Kuwait ($2.45 bn), Turkey ($1.73 bn), Taiwan ($1.73 bn), Indonesia ($1.72 bn), and Egypt ($1.63 bn).
In the second top ten of largest arms importers, China ranks 11th with $1.53 bn, followed by Australia ($1.45 bn), Venezuela ($1.30 bn), Singapore ($1.26 bn), Azerbaijan ($1.26 bn), Pakistan ($1.22 bn), Morocco ($1.20 bn), Finland ($1.14 bn), Greece ($1.13 bn), and Brazil ($1.06 bn).
What a waste
It doesn’t matter how armed they are…they will still lose….we have more millitary men then they do….even though they have ten times our population. ..and we are in defensive positions….they can’t attack they can only bait us out of the mountains…then maybe it’ll be more difficult. …but even then we will win….. Azeri can’t fight for shit…. armenians are born as warriors. We are ready to take more land back anytime the Russians won’t save there Baku this time.
