BAKU (ANS-Press)–Azeri opposition parties have organized a peace march to Karabakh–to be held in May.
The decision was made by the Karabakh question coordinating council–which also expressed its dissatisfaction with the Azeri government’s approach to conflict resolution.
According to council member Nurhaddin Askerov–the peace march was initiated based on the recent Organizations for Security and Cooperation in Europe Minsk Group peace proposals–which were rejected by Azerbaijan.
The peace march will reportedly begin in the beginning of May and will conclude on May 28. The proposed routes for the march are Baku-Yevlakh-Aghdam or the Baku-Julfa highway. The latter route has been favored–although a final decision has not been reached.
Askerov said that the council had already appealed to international organization to assist in planning and organizing the march.
"The aim of the march is to demonstrate to the international public opinion that Azerbaijan is not at peace with losing Karabakh," said Askerov.
