KIEV March 21 (Itar-Tass) – Azeri President Geidar Aliyev will be awarded the Order of Yaroslav the Wise during his visit to the Ukrainian capital–scheduled for March 24-25. Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma signed a decree on Thursday–which says that the Azeri leader would be awarded the Order for outstanding personal contribution to the development of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and to the consolidation of friendship between the two nations.
Geidar Aliyev will hold talks and consultations with President Leonid Kuchma–Chairman of the Supreme Rada (parliament) Alexander Moroz and Prime Minister Pavel Lazarenko. The Ukrainian and Azeri officials are expected to discuss problems of trade and economic cooperation– specifically–the implementation of the project of creating the Transcaucasian transport corridor–as well as the pipeline and sea transportation of oil from the Caspian oil fields by the Ukrainian territory.
The sides also plan to discuss a possible creation of an intergovernmental bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation. Aliyev will discuss with Ukrainian officials prospects of joint actions of the two countries in international organisations–as well as spheres of bilateral information exchanges.
A number of bilateral documen’s are expected to be signed.
