YEREVAN (Armenpress)–An Azerbaijani ANS television station reported on July 31 evening that Azerbaijani armed forces have taken back a village near Aghdam that was controlled by the Armenian forces of Nagorno Karabakh.
The report said that several Azeri soldiers were killed when the village of Yusifkanly was "liberated."
The RFE/RL said that the television channel showed Azeri soldiers who said they were ready to move ahead–but "need an order from the president." No other news media in Azerbaijan disseminated a similar report.
However–the Armenian Defense Ministry dismissed the report by ANS describing it as a "regular provoking announcement by Azerbaijan."
