YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The "Aznavour for Armenia" fund and the Armenian Fund for Social Investment have begun implementation of a project of reconstruction and building of new schools in Armenia–"Aznavour for Armenia" fund representative Maro Derderian reported.
She explained that the project provides for the reconstruction of 50 schools. The two-year project costs $3 million dollars and has potential to expand.
One of the terms of the project is that the local community allocate ten percent of the sum needed for the reconstruction or building of a new school.
Two new schools have already been constructed in Meghri and Spitak. Repair works have been carried out in two other schools in Gyumri.
