PARIS (Combined Sources)—Famous Armenian singer and Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Charles Aznavour will join a scheduled rally in front of the French Senate, to ask the legislative body to pass a measure criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide in France.
“For the first time in his life, Aznavour will take part in a political protest,” the Paris-based Nouvelles d’Arménie reported. The event initiated by Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France will also bring together Patrick Devedjian, Serge Klarsfeld and other public figures.
On October 12, 2006, the French National Assembly passed a bill on criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial. Recently, WikiLeaks published a cable quoting French President Nicolas Sarkozy as saying that the bill “will be buried in the Senate.” This statement angered Aznavour, who publicly decried the president’s remarks.

Mr Aznavour, …..you are our voices….. thank you… a million and half and more times…… thank you!…..
Bravo Aznavour! Hope this protest works. France is one of the few real friends of Armenians…
Mr. Aznavour, I hope you’ll live 100+ healthy years! You have always been a very patriotic Armenian and you have remained one of our best crop. May God bless you and what you are doing is very important for our cause as well as for humanity. I hope Mr. Sarkosy will see the light as the wonderful Mr. Chirac saw it before him. We all love you!!!!!
Charles Aznavour deserves to become the next president of Armenia. We had enough of the mafia rule.
