YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"I came to Armenia to participate in the shooting of Vigen Chaldranian’s film with caution because first of all I am to act in Russian and also because the role was written specially for me–which requires responsible work," renowned Polish actress Barbara Brylska said during a press conference on October 26.
The actress said she had spent seven days in Yerevan at her hotel room–where she rehearsed her part as well as on the shooting ground–so she had no time to see Armenia. Vigen Chaldranian promised to show the actress around the sights of Armenia the same day.
Chaldranian said that the actress is involved in an episode in the "Symphony of Silence" film to show an American cabaret singer of Polish origin who comes to Armenia for a day to see her Armenian friend suffering from cancer. The shootings of the film will be completed soon. In January–the film crew will be the United States for a week to continue shootings there. Barbara Brylska will come to Armenia in spring to score her part for sound and the premiere of the film is due next summer. Such actors as Mikael Poghossian–Vladimir Msrian–Karen Janibekian–Khoren Abrahamian and others are involved in the film.
The film director said he met Brylska a year ago and jokingly offered her a part in his film. The actress agreed and soon she received an invitation. "I redid the scenes to fit Brylska. Had she wished to play the lead–I would have written such a scenario too–but she wished to play an episodic part only," Chaldranian said.
Barbara Brylska told journalists that she had played 58 leading roles so far and now she had invitations from Germany–Bulgaria–Russia–Uzbekistan. "However–I am not keen on being shot in films. I agreed to participate in this particular film for the only reason that its scenario was written specially for me," the actress said. Brylska said she had become an actress to have her own earnings and also to be able to travel–while she has always placed her family (now her son)–her home and summer-cottage above all. "I am a romantic and tired woman," the renowned actress confessed.
