STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–Nagorno-Karabakh Prime Minister Anushavan Danielian received Vice-Speaker of the British Parliament’s House of Lords Caroline Cox on July 24. Congratulating Danielian upon his recent appointment–Cox hoped that the new Karabakh government will live up to the people’s expectations. She was accompanied by her son Robin and his family. They were also present at the meeting.
A spokesman for the Karabakh prime minister quoted Danielian as saying during the meeting that he was aware of the missions Baroness Cox has executed in Karabakh as well as her agreemen’s with Karabakh authorities. Danielian expressed his gratitude for the Baroness’ contribution to the establishment of peace in Karabakh and the country’s post-war rehabilitation.
Cox gave the prime minister a report presenting her activities at the British Parliament’s House of Lords and outlining the various approaches of British legislators in regards to the 1915 Armenian Genocide and the Karabakh settlement. Cox gave Danielian a copy of her book in which she writes about the countries she has visited–especially Karabakh–and the national-liberation struggles she has witnessed.
