YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"The unification of Belarus and Russia is certainly positive for both states. Armenia’s possible participation in that union depends on the type of the union," coordinator of the Scientific-Industrial and Civil Union Council Alexander Aghamalyan said in an interview with Noyan Tapan.
He regretted not seeing the details of the Union’s Statute.
However–according to Aghamalyan–there was a point in the primary version of the statute which suggested that this unification is finally aimed at establishing a single state which is inadmissible for Armenia.
According to Aghamalyan–if the union is of the European Union type–Armenia’s participation in it will probably be justified and prospective.
"It is a complex and equivocal problem. It is like those problems where one should neither hasten–nor be late. It is clear now that neither authorities–nor any political force–but only the people have a right to decide this matter," he concluded.
