MOSCOW (Respublica Armenii)–Russian politician Boris Berezovski–who was recently assigned as Executive Secretary of the CIS–has scheduled to visit Armenia and Azerbaijan–to meet with presidents Robert Kocharian and Haidar Aliyev and discuss the Karabakh conflict. Berezovski declared in Moscow that "with unsolved conflicts–CIS cannot be a real Commonwealth."
The Foreign Ministry representatives of the OSCE Minsk group are also scheduled to visit Armenia in the near future.
The representatives will first visit Yerevan–then Stepanakert–then go back to Yerevan–and Baku. The last visit of the OSCE co-chairmen to the region took place in January. The visits were then suspended until the end of the Armenian elections. Presidential elections expected to be held in Azerbaijan in the fall–may result in further delay of negotiations.
