SAN FRANCISCO–In honor of newly ordained and consecrated Prelate–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–the Very Rev. Papken Tcharian–Pastor–and the Board of Trustees of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church–organized a series of events in celebration of his first episcopal visit to the community.
On his arrival–he visited the Krouzian-Zekarian-Vasbouragan Armenian School–where he met with newly appointed Principal–Marine Mardirian–staff and students.
On Friday evening–Sept. 5–a concert of rarely performed Armenian Religious Songs was presented in St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church. The Prelate–along with clergy from the Bay Area churches were in attendance.
Saturday evening–Sept. 6–the Prelate was honored with a dinner party at the home of Garbis and Maida Bezdjian–where the sister organziations of the community were gathered to enjoy a more informal evening–conversing with His Grace.
On their behalf a pair of gold cuff links were presented to the Prelate–marking his new appointment.
On Sunday–Sept. 7–the Divine Liturgy was celebrated and sermon delivered by His Grace in St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church–assisted by Very Rev. Papken Tcharian–Pastor–and Archpriest Datev Kaloustian.
Thereafter–in the Saroyan Hall–a testimonial banquet was held in celebration of the Episcopal Ordination and Consecration of His Grace–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian. More thn 250 people attended.
A program was presented hosted by Nerses Teshoian–Board of Trustee Member. The speech of the Prelate was stirring.
At the conclusion of the banquet–a pin–encircled with diamonds–was given to the Bishop.
