SEATTLE (Reuters)–Boeing Co. on Tuesday said Turkey’s military had signed a $1 billion contract for four airplanes equipped with its Airborne Early Warning & Control System–an advanced radar and communications platform.
The sale of the AEW&C system–using modified Boeing 737-700 jetliners–must next be approved by the US State Department and Congress.
Boeing did not immediately say when the airplanes and other equipment would be delivered.
