YEREVAN(Noyan Tapan)– One of the key forms of humanitarian aid from the British Embassy in Armenia has been the assistance provided to disabled children and children in penitentiaries–the spokesman for the British Embassy in Armenia Victoria Gevorgian told Noyan Tapan.
According to her–the implementation of a number of programs aimed at assisting the "Piunik" Society of Disabled Sportsmen was recently completed. The organization was provided with sports stock worth $4,500. Assistance was also rendered to orphanages for disabled children in Nubarashen and Kanaker. There are plans to continue similar programs in the future as well.
The British Embassy is also sponsoring the repairs of a children’s colony in the town of Abovian and has plans to assist in the implementation of the "Help to Begging Children" Program being implemented by the French "Doctors without Frontiers" organization.
Gevorgian said that the embassy provides a number of educational establishmen’s with educational aids and video materials.
