Burbank Community Festival Set for Sunday

BURBANK–The Burbank Armenian Center is pleased to invite you to its first Annual Community Festival, on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Robert E. Gross Park in Burbank from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.

The official program and opening remarks will take place from 1:00pm ‘s 2.00pm. Congressman Adam Schiff, Assemblymember Paul Krekorian, Deputy Consul General of Los Angeles, Mesrop Shaboyan, Mayor of Burbank Dave Golonski will be attending and addressing our community.

DJ, Davoul Zourna by Armen Stepanyan, Saro’s Dance Group "Armenian Wedding" dance Performance, Maggie a children’s singer/entertainer will be performing live. There will be food, music, dancing and a kid’s corner as well. Booths promoting Burbank businesses and organizations will be available for browsing and information. Last but not least we will have competitions in "Bilot" & "Nardi" table games.

In operation for more than 18 years, the Burbank Armenian Center houses many local chapters of the following Armenian-American organizations: The Armenian Cultural Foundation, the Armenian National Committee (ANC), the Armenian Youth Federation, The Badanegan, the Armenian Relief Society and Homenetmen.

Through the above organizations the Burbank Armenian Center promotes and serves the local community by offering anti-drug & anti-gang initiatives, educational & civic programs, meetings & forums, and local-school partnerships.
