YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A delegation led by Canadian Trade minister David Colenet met with Armenian Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly–Yuri Pakhsyan.
Pakhsyan stressed that such meetings help strengthen the relationship between the two nations and also make way for economic cooperation. He also stressed the strong communication and interaction of the two sides on the international level.
Colenet also alluded to a recent agreement signed by the transportation departmen’s of both nations–saying he hopes it will lead to further cooperation on that front and technical progress for both sides.
Finally–the two sides exchanged opinions about Armenia’s upcoming Parliamentary elections.
Vicar General of the Catholicos of All Armenia’s–Archbishop Garegin Nersissian met Thursday with the delegation who traveled to Etchmiadzin. Welcoming the guests on behalf of the Catholicos–archbishop Nersissian expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of Armenian-Canadian economic ties. Noting the presence of the big Armenian community in Canada–archbishop Nersissian voiced confidence that friendly relations between the two countries have firm foundations. Colenet also emphasized the important role of the Armenian community in establishing close relations between the two countries.
The minister is accompanied by Armenian Revolutionary Federation Canada Central Committee member Apkar Mirakian an dCanadian-Armenian businessmen Simon Hasserdjian–Manas Titizian and Yervant Shahinian.
