STEPANAKERT (Armenpress)–President of Karabakh Arkady Ghukasian met with Michael Emerson and Natalie Tochi–the co-authors of the Southern Caucasian Stability Pact from the European Center for Political Studies stationed in Brussels.
President Ghukasian noted that the Karabakh authorities had some reservations about several provisions of the Stability Pact and said they were not acceptable for Karabakh. But he appreciated the concerns of the co-authors over the region’s problems–saying they testified to the fact that the international community is interested in establishing long-lasting peace here.
Emerson noted that their visit to the region was of a fact-finding character. He said that during their meetings with presidents of Armenia–Georgia and Azerbaijan over the last three weeks they had opportunities to get to know the countries’ approaches to the region’s future and the Pact.
