YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A Lebanese delegation composed of members of the Beirut City Hall and local businessmen of Armenian origin and led by the mayor of Beirut Abdel Mounem Arisi arrived in Yerevan on September 26–on a two-day visit at the invitation of Yerevan Mayor Albert Bazeyan.
Deputy Yerevan Mayor Vardan Vardapetian told Armenpress that the visit had been agreed on six months ago and for the first time–the two cities will sign an agreement on cooperation and friendship in tourism–culture–education and economy. The Lebanese delegation is scheduled to meet with Armenian President and Prime Minister–as well as Armenian businessmen. The mayor of Beirut said the visit would make ties between the two cities more closer. The Yerevan Deputy Mayor mentioned that one of the central streets in Yerevan will be renamed Beirut Street. The ceremony will take place on September 27.
