The mission of CKACS is to provide a comprehensive standards-based education while creating a healthy moral and ethical environment where Christian values are nurtured. All students are provided the opportunity to reach their potential as they become productive citizens of the United States and the global community with an understanding and appreciation of Armenian language, history and culture.
The convenient location at 108 N. Villa, Clovis is easy to get to from all parts of the community. With small class sizes (less than 20 students) teachers are better able to work with each student.
Teachers use the Promethean interactive whiteboards in First-6th grade classrooms. The 5/6th graders use laptop computers to work on their assignments. There are 2-3 computers in each of the other class rooms for students to do their AR Tests or research.
Students have a weekly visit to the Mirigian library to check out books and do research. A core of volunteers keep the library ready for use by students. Many books on all topics are housed in this facility, they are both AR rated and checked out by computer barcode.
The weekly instrumental music and choral music instruction by qualified instructors prepares the students for performances and for building their knowledge of Armenian choral and instrumental music. Students are involved in numerous community activities in which they build their confidence by reciting poetry or performing musically.
There are formal Christian Education classes held once a week for the students. This fall they are studying the parables of Jesus and how it relates to their lives.
Parent’s who choose CKACS understand that academic achievement translates into opportunities and advancement as an adult. CKACS is the first step on your child’s path to academic success and individual excellence. Teamwork between parents and teachers continues to be an important link for CKACS graduates and their continuing success.
A new event for the CKACS community was held in September. It was call ‘Back to the Fabulous 50’s. Chairpersons, Ron and Barbara Mortanian organized a wonderful event for the whole community. TV and movie stars from the 1950’s came from LA and beyond to be with all participants.
At the present time the school is involved with a Holiday Gift Pack fundraiser which includes almonds, apricots, pistachios and chocolate covered raisins in a beautiful box. This is a wonderful gift for colleagues, hostesses and family. Please see the CKACS website for more information – ckacs.org
