VARAN, Bulgaria—Grand Master Hovhannes Gabuzyan ended the Varna Open international chess tournament in first place on Friday.
In the 9th and last round on Friday the Armenian chess player defeated Russian Andrey Borisenko. Hovhannes Gabuzyan gained 7.5 points and took the first place prize. The next two were Russian Vladimir Dobrov and Bulgarian Radoslav Dimitrov, who fell behind by 1 point.
Hovhannes Gabuzyan was awarded with a medal and the tournament cup.
