The Cilicia Analytical Platform, under the auspices of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, is convening to address pressing issues facing the Middle East, particularly in light of the recent Israeli war on Lebanon. The discussions thoroughly explore important topics such as UN Resolution 1701, the roles of Iran, Russia, and Turkey in the region, and Armenia’s position on the two-state solution and recognition of Palestine as a state.
The platform seeks to identify parallels among the wars in Gaza, South Lebanon, and Artsakh, focusing on displacement and resistance, as well as possible avenues for a ceasefire and effective mediation strategies. Additionally, they examine violations of international law by Israel and the challenges to enforcing international resolutions regarding Lebanon.
During a recent session held on Sunday, November 3, the Catholicos provided valuable insights from a phone conversation with former President Trump concerning the rights of Artsakh Armenians.
The platform remains committed to organizing further emergency sessions to engage with these significant matters.
