“While long overdue, this event marks a historic milestone for our city as we celebrate our first Women’s Equality Day. This is more than just a day of recognition—it’s our deep commitment to providing the resources and opportunities women need to thrive, and to tearing down barriers and building bridges to success for every woman. The event is aimed at uniting women from every field and background and forging a powerful network that propels each of us to reach our full potential,” stated Mayor Elen Asatryan. “When we uplift women, we uplift our families, our children, our businesses, and our entire community. Join us as we celebrate progress, catalyze change, and empower our community to rise together right here in the heart of Glendale,” she added.
The event will feature opening remarks by Glendale Mayor Elen Asatryan and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, followed by panel discussions on contracting, procurement, and employment with the City of Glendale and other government agencies. Topics will also include certification pathways for women-owned businesses, SBA and economic development resources, and policy insights affecting women and girls, with speakers such as Julie Clowes, Director of SBA Los Angeles; Carolyn Gan, Executive Director of California Partners Project; Jennifer Coronado from Glendale’s Economic Development Department; Paula Adams, Chief Human Resources Officer for the City of Glendale; Diane Lambillotte, Chair of the Commission on the Status of Women; and Jennifer Palacio from Glendale’s Purchasing & Finance Department, among others.
The event will conclude with live music, refreshments, and networking opportunities with city, regional, and state officials, business leaders, and like-minded professionals. Attendees are also encouraged to visit the resource table for information on helpful programs and services from various organizations.
