NEW YORK—The US, French, and Russian co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group issued a statement on Saturday about separate meetings they held with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the 65th UN General Assembly.
“The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs held separate meetings on September 23 in New York on the margins of the UN General Assembly session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, and of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov. The OSCE Personal Representative of the Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, attended both discussions,” the statement said.
According to the release, the Co-Chairs updated both Ministers about the upcoming October 4-14 Field Assessment Mission to the liberated territories of Nagorno-Karabakh. The three mediators have invited experts from the UNDP and UNHCR to join the mission.
The Co-Chairs also shared with the two ministers their working plan for the coming months and information about the upcoming OSCE Summit in Astana.
