YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The new Presidential Commission for Local Government Affairs held its first meeting on July 28.
The Commission’s Chairman–presidential advisor Felix Pirumian said the new members of the commission will continue to work as effectively as their predecessors.
After summing up the results of the commission’s work in recent times–the meeting discussed future activities and programs. It outlined immediate tasks–including studies and discussions of a coordinated state policy in the sphere of local government and amendmen’s to the legislation.
The Commission will keep the press informed about its activities through regular briefings–the presidential press service said.
The commission has the task of coordinating and governing the activities of local government heads and report to the president.
