YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The newly-formed Yerkrapah deputy group announced Thursday it saw a necessity for calling special parliamentary sessions in order to discuss the Karabakh peace-process.
As noted–similar proposals were made by the Social State deputy group. Albert Bazeyan–chairman of the Yerkrapah deputy group–said it is necessary to call a special parliament session–behind closed doors if need be–with the participation of Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Foreign Minister Alexander Arzoumanian–at which the two will make a reports on what the most recent developmen’s are in the process.
Bazeyan noted that the principle of so-called "territorial integrity" brought about by Azerbaijan was always dominating at the negotiations–while the Armenian side must keep to the principle of Karabakh people’s right to self-determination. He viewed as inadmissible the foisted unilateral concessions and noted that only the version of mutual concessions is possible.
"I agree with the opinion voiced by the Karabakh leadership that the problem must be solved by a package version. If we agree to certain territorial concessions–we will demand independence for Karabakh in exchange," he concluded.
