BAKU (Armenpress)–The leader of Azerbaijani Social-Democratic party Zardusht Alizade said he was not optimistic about inner-political developmen’s in his country after returning from a visit to the US
"The public in the US has a vague idea about Azerbaijan–not to mention the peculiarities in the opposition-government relations here," he said to Bilik Dunyasi news agency.
Alizade said that Washington’s attempts to help Armenia and Azerbaijan end their decade long conflict are focused on Kocharian-Aliyev one-on-one meetings.
Alizade–as well as other political forces in Azerbaijan–describe it as "monopolization" of the negotiations process. "The natural outcome of the endless Kocharian-Aliyev meetings have amounted to the temporary freezing of the conflict. This is a situation Azerbaijan has to do everything to avoid," he said.
