Newly-appointed Armenian Consul General to Los Angeles Armen Melkonian visited the offices of the Western Prelacy–Wednesday–meeting with several officials and with Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian.
Deputy Consul General Edward Taronian accompanied Melkonian on his visit to the Prelacy.
Among topics the two discussed were the daily lives of Armenia’s living in Armenia–in Karabakh and in the Diaspora–and ways to bring each together under one common cause. Specifically–the two addressed Los Angeles’ strong Armenian population–and how it could continue playing the significant role it does in the future of Armenia and Karabakh.
Bishop Mardirossian briefly outlined the Prelacy’s activities in recent months–both in the religious sphere and in other areas such as educational–cultural and national awareness.
The Prelate pointed out that the Armenian church played a major role in Armenia’s revitalization–and said it must continue to do so.
With that–the Prelate recommitted himself and the Western Prelacy to assisting Armenia and Karabakh in any way possible on its road to economic and political stability.
