YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Chairman of the Constitutional Right Union Hrant Khachatrian announced the establishment of election bloc "Law & Unity" jointly with the National Unity party led by Artashes Geghamian. He noted that the bloc united political allies. It is so far too early to speak about acceptance of new members to the bloc–however–it is possible that some Scientific-Industrial & Civil Union representatives may join the bloc.
Artashes Geghamian noted that there is full understanding between the two parties and they have common understanding of principles of justice–truth and moral.
He stressed that the division of the existing political forces into right-wing and left-wing ones is conventional and the media so far doesn’t cover the whole range of key problems–worrying the public. According to him–over 90 percent of Armenia’s population lives in abject poverty–whereas over 1 million people have left their motherland.
Geghamian noted that economic upsurge–improvement of living standards are possible only on condition of restoration of the public’s belief. According to him–this is possible only through public trial of ANM members who ruled the country. The bloc’s program includes a provision whereby at least 30 former officials must be tried. Asked how they see the implementation of this provision and who of ANM members ran’s first in that list of 30 former officials–vice-chairman of CRU Hayk Baboukahian said: "they are charged with high treason and the list begins with Levon Ter-Petrosyan followed by Vano Siradeghian–Babken Ararktsian….and the rest will be named y these first three persons," Geghamian added.
