NICOSIA–Members of the Armenian Youth Federation of Cyprus were part of a 25-member delegation from Cyprus which will represent the island at the International Youth Festival on human rights–European Union enlargement and security in Europe to take place in Lisbon.
The Festival was scheduled to begin Saturday and continue through Aug. 10. The Lisbon gathering is being held under the auspices of the UN and the Portuguese Government–and about 6,000 young persons from all over the world are expected to participate.
The Cypriot delegation comprises representatives from youth–political–social–student and trade union organizations–and will take part in all the workshops that are of interest to Cyprus.
Some 500 delegates from all over the world will participate in the conference–to be held on August 2–while the Cypriot delegation will take part in discussions regarding human rights.
The four Armenian representatives are Sarin Kouyoumdjian–Vatche Nalbandian and Harout Bedrossian from AYF Nicosia and Anita Boyadjian from AYF Larnaca.
