YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister Armen Darbinian met late last week with a delegation of the ARF Executive Council of Armenia led by the latter’s representative–Vahan Hovanessian.
The sides discussed the country’s political development as well as social and economic problems. In addressing the delegation’s concerns over several domestic issues–the prime minister presented the government’s positions and some immediate plans.
The ARF delegation affirmed its standpoint on the "ArmenTel" deal.
The government’s negotiation efforts aimed at easing the tension that arose in connection with "ArmenTel"’s intention to raise telephone rates were reassuring.
The delegation handed to the prime minister some documen’s containing the ARF’s approaches to the country’s social and economic development. Both sides stressed the importance of more effective cooperation.
