LAS VEGAS—Wearing a belt inscribed with “1915” Vic Darchinyan defeated Yonnhy Perez Saturday evening in a 12-round bantamweight fight .
After his win, Darchinyan highlighted the Armenian Genocide by highlighting the significance of the date and telling the story of the Armenian Genocide in his winning interview.
Clad in the Armenian tri-color, Darchinyan was won the fight because his opponent, was injured in his eye.
“Hayastan, Galis em” (Armenia, I’m coming) is how Darchinyan ended his interview.

It was an excellent fight and it took place in downtown Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre Saturday night. I’ve been following the careers of our great Armenian boxers, such as Vic Darchinyan, and this was one of his best performances since he moved up to the 118 lbs bantamweight division.
In addition to Vic highlighting the significance of April 24-1915 in his post-fight interview, one of the well-known veteran broadcasters Al Bernstein very eloquently explained the meaning of the year 1915 printed on Vic’s hood upon his entrance into the ring.

“1915” on the belt and “Armenian Genocide” after watching the boxing game.Then he did some research on the internet to find out more details.
