PARIS (Gamk)–International soccer champion and star French-Armenian Yuri Djorkaeff recently dispatched letters to the French Senate and the French government regarding the pending Armenian Genocide recognition resolution.
"My fellow Armenia’s are concerned that the French Senate–is giving in to pressures and is not approving the May 29–1998 Armenian Genocide recognition measure approved by the French Parliament," the soccer star expressed in his letter.
"I am confident–however–that the Senate and the government will not halt the vote at the Genocide recognition resolution definitely will be approved by the Senate," Djorkaeff concluded.
The soccer champion worked closely with the Armenian National Committee of France in advancing this letters to French officials.
