YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A delegation of Armenia led by Economy Minister Armen Darbinian left for the United States Sunday to participate in the meeting of the Supreme Body of the World Trade Organization.
The Armenian delegation includes the Prime Minister’s Advisor Armen Yeghiazarian and WTO Membership Program Executive Director Ara Hakobian.
The WTO Ministerial Conference will be held in Seattle from November 30 to December 3 and will be attended by delegates from 160 countries of the world.
The chief goal of the Seattle conference is to coordinate issues connected with the next round of the so-called "third millennium agreemen’s" expected to be take place in January 2000. The new round of talks on the reconsideration of a number of WTO agreemen’s is expected to take several years. The conference will have on its agenda issues like agriculture and services.
