YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The "Education for Everybody" international movement will soon find its way into Armenia. The movement was organized during the UN conference in Thailand in 1990 and later–in June 1998–launched in other countries.
"Better late than never," said deputy minister of science and education–Aida Topouzian Tuesday–stressing that a relevant assessing committee should be set up–preliminary information should be gathered–and a databank created. Analytical data will be used in developing the national educational strategy as well as in drawing up the national report.
Besides the pre-school institutions–among the Ministry’s concerns Topouzian pointed out the importance of educational activities among elder people and elimination of illiteracy among them.
