NEW YORK–“Everybody Prays at Holy Etchmiadzin,” a documentary focusing on the historic role of the Armenian Church will premiere nationally on Sunday, December 7 on local affiliates of the ABC TV network.
The documentary, produced for the National Council of Churches of the Armenian Church in North America, focuses on the historic role of the Armenian Holy See of Etchmiadzin which, since its founding in 303 A.D., has served as a beacon of tolerance, navigating multicultural regimes, withstanding conquests, and persevering attempts at religious persecution.
The Etchmiadzin-themed documentary is part of NCC’s presentation of three one-hour specials in December on affiliates of the ABC, CBS and NBC television networks, and another special on ABC affiliates in early January. These specials, along with 12 others during the year, are presented on more than 300 local ABC, CBS and NBC stations through the auspices of the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission, made up of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Council of Churches, the Islamic Society of North America, the New York Board of Rabbis, and the Union for Reform Judaism. NCC’s Wesley "Pat" Pattillo serves as current president of the IBC board.
