STRASBOURG (Public Radio of Armenia) — The European Court of Human Rights has refused to consider the case of Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev, citizens of Azerbaijan serving sentence in Nagorno Karabakh, according to authorized representative of the Government of Azerbaijan in the European Court of Human Rights Chingiz Askerov.
Askerov added that the government of Azerbaijan has sent an inquiry to the European Court for further clarification. He said their families had applied to the Court back in 2014.
The Azeri saboteurs crossed the Artsakh border in July, 2014. The third commando, Hasan Hasanov, was killed, and his body was handed over to Baku.
The actions of the subversive group left an underage resident of Karvachar region and a soldier killed and a woman wounded.
The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Nagorno Karabakh sentenced Dilham Askerov to life imprisonment, and Shahbaz Guliyev to 22 years in jail.

Too light of a sentence. We should condemn these people to Stoning. Line up all the parents of all the soldiers and have these criminals run the gauntlet of those angry parents. Otherwise, we’d have to feed them for all those years. Another thing, I hope Armenia has a rehabilitation program for all those saboteurs. Like digging tunnel shortcuts in the mountains., digging coal out of the ground, de-mining the mined fields. With good behavior, the families of their victims should have the option of ransoming these criminals from their families for 10, 20, 30 thousand dollars each, and keep the money as restitution. Small measure, but by paying the ransom, they would be unable to return to Azerbaijan, and in that case, no more promotions, back pay or free apartments. Just a firing squad. So in that way, in case of minor incursions or major, the average Azery soldier should have an out. A choice of surrendering, and have their families ransom their lives with a one way ticket to Tatarstan. Or freeze to death in the mountains of Artsackh.
