The Regional General Assembly for the Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s Youth Organization took place on March 6-7 in Athens–Greece. Representatives which were elected during the executive assembly that took place in Yerevan–Armenia last October hailed from all parts of the world including Greece–France–Cyprus–Bulgaria–Sweden–England and Armenia.
The meeting was declared official by Alice Abroyan–chair of the chapter from Greece. Greetings and thanks were sent out to ARF Bureau member Apo Boghigian and Harout Manoogian–of the Greece ARF Central Committee both of which are in charge of ARF youth affairs.
During the two day assembly many different issues were brought to the forefront.
The chapters expressed their respective grievances and complaints–key issues were put to vote and voted on and an overall summary of the state of the ARF youth organizations and their involvement over the last year was read.
The representatives then focused on inter-regional cooperation–issues of importance to the educational committees–external cooperation and issues relating to the expansion of the organizations’ involvement in their respective communities.
A general agenda was drafted and presented to ARF Bureau’s Office of Youth Affairs for evaluation.
The key issues which composed the agenda is the increasing of the chapters’ participation throughout Europe–resulting in spreading the key points of the Armenian Cause throughout the major European cities with the active participation of the AYF.
Involvement in European communities was considered key. Also–stressed the increased cooperation between chapters in the Diaspora and those in the homeland.
