YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An exhibition of paintings by the prosaic–playwright and painter Aghasi Ayvazian opened at the Modern Art Museum on September 25.
It was a surprise for those present to learn that Aghasi Ayvazian has been painting since his was five. According to Art critic Henrik Igitian–a man is old when he creates no more–and Aghasi Ayvazian is one of those who keeps inventing and devising new things.
Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Armenia Levon Ananian noted that a talent is talented in everything. "Aghasi Ayvazian is a prosaic–a playwright–an author–and a great painter." His friends–both art critics and art lovers agree that–"Painting is not a hobby for Aghasi Ayvazian–but rather serious work."
Those present at the exhibition especially enjoyed Ayvazian’s art works entitled–"Jaconda,"Love,"Abstractions," and "Crucifixion." Aghvan Vardanian–a member of the parliament–noted that "Aghasi Ayvazian–as a painter–is an exceptional and rare phenomenon that must be tended and cherished." Toward the end of the event–Henrik Igitian pointed out that–"Aghasi Ayvazian’s paintings are the means of expression for his soul–painting is part of his life."
