YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The "Armgasproject" institute examined and analyzed two variants of transit export of natural gas from Turkmen’stan to Europe through the Transcaucasian countries and Turkey. This pipeline is known as the Turkmen’stan-Turkey-Europe TransCaspian pipeline.
In speaking to Noyan Tapan–Deputy Director for Science Affairs of the "Armgasproject" institute Robert Maroutian said that the variants under consideration imply the export of 30,000,000 cubic meters of gas with 16,000,000 piped off in Turkey and another 14,000,000 supplied to Europe.
The first variant is the 1850-kilometers long Turkmen’stan-Armenia-Turkey route costing $2.9 billion.
The second variant is the 2060-kilometer long Turkmen’stan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey route costing $3.4 billion–$500 million more than the first option.
