Continuing the series of Holy Martyrs Armenian Elementary & Ferrahian High School’s commencement exercises, in the afternoon of Saturday, June 28, the Middle School Commencement/Promotion ceremony took place at the school’s Avedissian Hall.
After the American and National anthems, Rev. Razmig Khatchadourian conveyed his blessings to the students, followed by the welcoming remarks of Seza Kurdian in Armenian and Armig Panossian in English. Then the Eleventh Grade Student Council Representative Shant Berberian took to the podium with his encouraging remarks to the students inviting them to the high school level. The graduates then performed a group recitation in Armenian and in English.
The presentation of the academic and monetary awards was led by Rita Stephens and conferred by Principal John Kossakian. Finally, Kossakian conveyed his heartfelt address to the students, congratulating the students, their parents, and the families and then conferred the diplomas to the students assisted by the classroom teachers.
The students then filled the front yard for family pictures during which time the Parent Support Committee helped convert the Avedissian Hall into a “Banquet Hall” for dinner and celebration in honor of the graduates.
The eighth graders are now ready to resume their next phase of education in Ferrahian High School. Already, more than ten students from other Armenian and from public schools have registered to join this group in ninth grade.
