Once again, Ferrahian students from both middle school and high school stepped up to the plate and showed spectacular participation in our school’s science fair. Although the science fair is an extracurricular activity that is particular to the Science Department, it enjoys the support of the teachers and the administration.
The Science Fair projects were judged by highly qualified engineers and scientists who were invited to the school from the Armenian Engineers and Science Associations as well as Rocketdyne, a well known rocket engineering company.
Throughout the day, 6th-11th grade students presented their science projects to the judges while scouting the other project boards in the gymnasium. A camera team from Horizon Armenian television station also arrived on campus and interviewed several students about their projects. By noon, all the projects were judged and the winners were chosen from each grade level, 1st through 4th place, as well as and the overall high school winner(s).
At the end of the day Dr. Relle, the Science Department Coordinator, announced the winners and thanked all the teachers for their support, particularly the Science teachers for their relentless efforts and of course the students for their participation in making the Science Fair a successful school-wide event.
The participants of the Ferrahian High School Science Fair 2009 believe that the science fair is an integral part of the education process at Ferrahian and would like to acknowledge Dr. Relle for her outstanding dedication, support, and commitment to the school’s Science Department as well as to her students.
