YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian–who is on a working visit to Brussels–had a meeting June 14 with CE Secretary General Havier Solana and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the European Commission (EC) Gui Legras.
Minister Oskanian presented to them the Armenian government’s approaches to economic development. Thereafter the sides addressed the effective use of the assistance rendered to Armenia by the Council of Europe. Minister Oskanian urged the CE to intensify the regional cooperation programs as well as initiate programs–in particular–in the sphere of high technologies.
Minister Oskanian pointed out that Armenia is striving for full integration into the European structures–and CE support should be viewed in this aspect.
The sides came to an agreement to continue the discussions at the meeting of the EC-Armenia Cooperation Council to be held in Luxembourg on October 10.
