YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A regular session of the Council of foreign ministers of CIS countries took place on June 4 at the CIS Head Office in Minsk. Armenia was represented at the session by first deputy foreign minister of Armenia Shahen Karamanoukian.
Participants at the session discussed draft documen’s concerning the Economic Council of CIS–the Executive Committee of CIS–the Council of Permanent and Authorized Representatives at CIS bodies–and the Coordination Council of CIS Prosecutors General.
The Public Information department of the Armenian foreign ministry reported that foreign ministers also discussed the course of implementing a resolution of the Council of CIS heads of states on further measures to settle the Georgia-Abkhazia conflict. According to the same source–the Karabakh conflict was not discussed during the session.
Participants of the session signed two documen’s–pertaining to preparations for the celebration of 55th anniversary of victory in World War II and draft address of the CIS heads of states to peoples of the Commonwealth and international community in connection with the anniversary.
