FRESNO–The Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church will host the Firs Annual Holiday Concert and Illumination Ceremony. This historical event will inaugurate the Centennial Celebration commemorating 100 Years of serving the Armenian Community. Holy Trinity–the first Armenian Apostolic Church of the Western United States–and known as the Mother Church–was officially established in December–1900.
For the first time ever–a choral concert will be held in the Church’s historical sanctuary. The Roosevelt High School Performing Arts Singer and the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church Choir will present a musical program of the Holiday Season. The program includes both secular and ecclesiastical music in English and Armenian. Included in the program will be short readings of poetry and verses by Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church Sunday school students. Following the concert–the audience will join the choral groups in a symbolic procession from the Church to witness the first ever illumination of the 80-year old cedar tree in the courtyard.
The First annual Holiday Concert and Illumination Ceremony is presented under the Auspices of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Armenia and will presided over by His Grace–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–Prelate of the Western Prelacy.
This event will be held Friday–December 10–1999–beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are required and will be available at the Church Office Sunday–November 21. Admission is free. A hosted reception will be held in the Church Social Hall featuring Armenian delicacies–California wines and an array of holiday refreshmen’s immediately following this historic event.
