YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia currently has no permanent address. The building occupied by the Chamber was sold to "Ria-Bank" after a deal was made between the chairman of the CCI and "Ria-Bank".
CCI workers claim that on Thursday they had to leave the building and don’t know whether they have a new working place or not. Talking to journalists–the workers said that it has been eight months since they have received their wages. The building is not supplied with energy–and communication is cut off. It is three months since the CCI chairman has not appeared–and his whereabouts are unknown. The workers have not yet applied to either the government or to the Ministry of Trade to clear up this matter. They think that the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen is gradually taking over some of the CCI’s functions.
The head of the business-legal advisory department of the CCI reported that the CCI will be provided with the building in Sayat-Nova.
