STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–The actress of the Stepanakert Vaghram Papazian drama and active participant in the Karabakh movement–Zhanna Galstian was ornamented with the "Golden Heart" international order during a solemn ceremony held late last week in Stepanakert.
The "Golden Heart" order was established by the "Women for Peace and Harmony" public movement–which was founded by the British ex-prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
Attending the ceremony were Speaker of the Karabakh Parliament Oleg Yesayan–Prime Minister Zhirair Poghossian–leader of the Artsakh diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church–Pargev Martirossian and government officials.
Giving the award was head of the St. Petersburg center for refugee children–Adelina Mnatsakanova–who is also a holder of the Golden Heart.
Mnatsakanova highly appreciated Galstian’s services to Artsakh’s national liberation movement–advocating ideas of human’sm and mercy. Galstian is the 15th person to be presented such a high and prestigious award.
In her speech–the actress expressed profound gratitude to all those who nominated her for the "Golden Heart" order.
Three Armenian women were decorated with the "Golden Heart" order–all of them being natives of Karabakh. The third holder of the Golden Heart–the chairwoman of the Armenian "Soldier’s Mother" committee–Greta Mirzoyan also arrived in Stepanakert to participate in the ceremony.
