
GLENDALE—At a special Board meeting on May 9, 2012 the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees approved the job announcement launching the search for an interim Superintendent/President to replace Dr. Dawn Lindsay who will leave the college in July for a position in Maryland.
Applications will be accepted through June 1 with an expected start date of July 1 or soon thereafter. The Board expects the interim position to last approximately one year.
The Board also decided that Donna Voogt, Administrative Dean, Human Resources will facilitate the recruitment process. A focus group/task force will be formed from the various campus constituent groups to paper screen and rank the candidates. The Board will have the responsibility of determining which candidates will be interviewed, conducting the interviews and making the final selection. The selection will be made by June 29.
As stated in the job announcement, the Board is seeking an interactive leader committed to the comprehensive community college and an open shared/participatory governance style to lead the college during the search for a permanent superintendent/president and to carry on the institution’s tradition of outstanding service to the greater Glendale community.
