FRESNO–Dr. George Bournoutian, Henry S. Khanzadian Kazan Visiting Professor of Armenian Studies at Fresno State, will present a talk on “The Armenian Church in South Asia: 1600-1800,” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21. This is the final presentation in a series of lectures on “The Armenian Church Under Foreign Rule,” during the Spring 2009 semester.
The lecture will be held in Room 191 of the University Business Center on the Fresno State campus. Admission to all lectures is free. Parking is available after 7:00PM in UBC Lot and Lot J.
Dr. Bournoutian will discuss the role of the Armenian Church in South Asia, including Singapore, India, and China.
Dr. Bournoutian has extensive teaching experience, having taught Eastern European and Middle Eastern history at Iona College since 1989. He is the author of seventeen books, and dozens of peer-reviewed articles in journals and encyclopedias.
