WASHINGTON–A delegation from the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic–headed by President Arkady Ghoukassian has been invited by the Armenian-American Community to make a two-week visit to the United States. The delegation will also include the Foreign Minister Naira Melkumian and President’s Deputy Chief of Staff Suren Grigorian.
The visit will begin in Los Angeles on February 27 and culminate in New York on March 15–with stops in Washington and Florida. The delegation will meet with the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group–as well as Members of Congress–representatives of foreign policy institutes–the media–and the Armenian-American community. A number of events for the public will also take place.
While in Los Angeles–Ghoukassian will address a public gathering organized by the Western Regional bodies of the Social Democratic Hunchakian party–the Armenian Democratic League (Ramkavar party) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. The event will be held on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Ghoukassian will also speak at a World Affair Council dinner on March 1 at the Regal Biltmore Hotel. A banquet honoring the Karabakh delegation is also scheduled for Wednesday–March 3 at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Universal City.
