GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee Glendale Chapter announced today its endorsement of the Glendale Community College proposed bond measure–Measure G–slated to be on the March 5 Primary ballot. If approved by voters–proceeds from Measure G will be used to provide essential parking–repairs–upgrades–and additional classrooms at Glendale Community College and the Adult Community Training Center (ACTC).
"The ANC-Glendale Chapter is committed to improving the quality of life in our community–and our support for Measure G underscores this very important commitment," explained ANC-Glendale Chapter chairman Artin Manoukian. "Glendale College is one of the centers of vibrant community life in Glendale serving all segmen’s of our population–and as such we see the improvement of facilities as central to the continuation of this institution’s sacred work."
Measure G–which will cost Glendale taxpayers $23.76 per year per $100,000 of assessed property value–in addition to being used to improve current facilities–will also be directed toward the construction of new classrooms and instructional and job training facilities–as well the expansion of the ACTC.
"Glendale Community College is the hub of education–career retraining–community life–diversity–athletics–the arts and so many other areas of our life in the Jewel City–and as Glendalians–we make sure that we maintain this shining example of pride and service in our community," emphasized GCC Trustee and Measure G Campaign Co-chairwoman Dr. Armine Hacopian. "There is not one person living in Glendale whose life has not been touched by the services offered at Glendale College–and it will take all members of our community to work together in order to provide education and career retraining in line with 21st Century standards."
All Glendale voters are encouraged to cast a vote of approval for Measure G on March 5.
