The ambulance being donated to Armenia

GLENDALE—On Thursday, April 2 the Glendale Fire Department will be donating a 2003 Ford Ambulance to the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia.

The Glendale Fire Department used the 2003 Ford ambulance for over ten years to conduct lifesaving emergency medical services for the resident of Glendale. At this time, the ambulance has reached the end of its service life with the department. Recognizing the need for emergency transport vehicles in other parts of the world, the Glendale Fire Department Emergency Medical Services division has collaborated with the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia. The Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia will utilize the ambulance to fulfill a critical need for transporting patients from villages on the outskirts of Yerevan to medical facilities for treatment.

A representative from the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia will meet with Fire Chief Greg Fish to accept the donation of the 2003 Ford Ambulance at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 2 at Glendale Fire Station 21, 421 Oak Street. The media is invited to attend and witness the transfer of ownership from the Glendale Fire Department to the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia. Interview and photo opportunities will be available.
